The purpose of this research is to investigate how an educational program which incorporates the experience‘Listening to the Illness Narratives'influences the elementary school student's later life. Children were interviewed ten years later, and results were examined. The survey interviewed 26 students, and extracted the data of 6 students who were considered appropriate for the purpose of the research. This data was analyzed by a coding paradigm. Consequently, the children have empathy for the ill person who lives a forward-looking life while suffering from illness and discrimination, and adopted the mission of communicating the ill person's feeling to the public. Through this learning experience, they consider ways of interaction between oneself and others, and oneself and society. This showed that such learning leads to building their compasses to live as members of society.
