| 内容記述 | The aim of this paper is to discuss the role of constructions in polysemy and semantic change, focusing on the verb write in the double object construction and the verb put in the caused-motion construction. I argue that write has not yet acquired the lexical meaning 'write and send' except when accompanied by clauses introduced by that, how and the like. I also claim that the role of constructions is important in causing polysemy and semantic change. | |||||||||||
