| 内容記述 | Two experiments were designed to test how Emmert's law can be applied to the distance cue obtained through a body movement. Twelve students who generated an afterimage of a test stimulus using a stroboscopic flash in the dark, took either of the following four movements in the dark: keeping still, stepping at the same position, stepping forward, and stepping backward. After the movement, they were asked to judge an apparent size of the afterimage based on a set of comparison stimuli. Experiment 1 showed that the apparent size was the smallest after stepping forward, the largest after stepping backword, and medium after keeping still or stepping of all the four conditions of body movement. Experiment 2, where the all the possible visual cues were deleted, reproduced the same results as those of Experiment 1 in the condition of stepping forward but not backward. The results demonstrated that Emmert's law applies to the distance cue produced by the forward movement but not that by the backward movement. | |||||||||||||||||
