| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to clarify to what extent the jury system in Hungary was managed by the courts and the Minister of Justice around 1900, during the days soon after the enforcement of the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1896. The archives about the Royal Court of Appeal Budapest, one of the eleven appeal courts, show two items: firstly the lists of junior candidates were made regulary from the beginning of the start of this system, through the number of people was much smaller than that of voters in the parliamentary election mainly because of pre-requisite educational qualifications. Secondly the Appeal Court did not always receive precise reports about jury trials, though the courts within the district of every Appeal Court were required to report about the trials every year by order of the Minister of Justice. Consequently the Ministry of Justice must have had difficulties to gather precise and detailed information and to consider reform of jury system. | |||||
