A questionnaire survey targeting first year students of Kumamoto University was carried out from October through November 2004. The purpose of the survey was to find out what abilities and roles university students expect of Yogo teachers. Survey results indicate that the students expect Yogo Teachers to focus on such duties as providing effective first aid, health counseling, and care of students who are not up to attending class but are able to present themselves at the school health office. Students expect Yogo Teachers to have a warm personality as well as basic skills in providing solid nursing care. Many students also expressed a desire that the school health office be convenient, relaxing and welcoming to users. |
