| 内容記述 | This paper clarifies the characteristics of assistance to inpatient children by hospital volunteers, on the basis of analysis of 17 activity reports on hospital volunteers in pediatric care. From the analysis, it has become apparent that hospital volunteers understand the constraints of guardians and professionals, and therefore, they provide a diverse range of assistance not only to inpatient children, but also their families. This includes playing with them, attending to them, and providing them with entertainment. Through these activities, volunteers play a unique role in creating a sense of joy, relief and normality during the course of the patient’s treatment； basically providing them with social support. | |||||
