| 内容記述 | Lave and Wenger's (1991) Communities of Practice (CoP) model can be potentially applied to organizational structure and community learning environments. However, there have been few studies that analyze the logistical workings of CoPs. Therefore, in this study, a class of 27 university-level students of English as a foreign language (EFL) participated in research designed to conceptualize the functioning of a CoP. Participants were surveyed at three instances over the 15-week research period to identify their values regarding participation and transmission of information. At the end of the research period, they were asked to write the definitions of core, active, and peripheral members within the learning community. Text mining was used to analyze their responses. The results provide deeper understanding of CoP features and states the elements that are necessary for novice learners to develop into successful and experienced learners. | |||||
