| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study was to clarify the process of nursing practices among expert nurses who support elderly patients undergoing chemotherapy for acute leukemia. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 9 nurses who support elderly patients. Data were analyzed using the Modified Grounded Theory Approach. This study found that the nurses'approach to supporting elderly patients was rooted in the belief that they were [supporting the fight against disease to the maximum extent], and performed their nursing duties accordingly. In addition, they established [constructing the foundation of care] as the axis and supported elderly patients as they fought diseases through nursing practices that involved [preventing side effects],[supporting good hygienic practices],[ensuring patient safety],[promoting activities of daily living],and[valuing the lives of patients]. In order to support elderly patients as they fight diseases, nurses should provide them with reassuring support, construct collaborative relationships, and offer support that allows the elderly patient to fight their disease both emotionally and physically. To this end, nurses should be empathetic to the elderly patients'emotions, promote their application to life during hospitalization, and work toward obtaining an understanding of the elderly patient'sphysical and psychosocial aspects. In doing so, nurses should consider the elderly patient's tendencies, self-confidence, hopes, and long-held habits, while working proactively to create strategies to ensure safety as well as prevention and strategies against side effects. Finally, nurses should exercise their autonomy asspecialists while considering the independence, dignity, and comfort during hospitalization of elderly patients, and support the elderly patients in their life. | |||||
