| 内容記述 | I examined the role played by Amakusa, the forefront base in Nagasaki, in the repatriation system for drifting ships. First, I explored the concept of “drifting,” which serves as a prerequisite for repatriation measures, discussing it as a sign for swift responses to promptly address emergencies and to understand the navigation conditions of Tang ships.Next, attention was directed to shipwrecks as one type of drifting incident, and a case study was conducted. Responding to shipwrecks involved the possibility of Tang people landing, prompting the establishment of a surveillance system to prevent illegal activities. To promptly secure the substantial funds required for such responses, merchants provided support, and a system was implemented for the entire district to share the financial burden. The maritime surveillance by lookout teams and district-wide collaboration in responding to drifting ships in Amakusa contributed to supporting and functioning within the repatriation system for Tang ships. | |||||||||||
